Wet on Wet

I was trying a new technique (for me) - soaking the paper completely and then painting. It's difficult to get "hard edges" and that makes it sort of unique. I liked the approach with the old man. These are just small sketches. The first one is from my friend Sally Young's photos of Romania. The second one is from my friend and painting buddy, Margaret - on her trip to Italy.

Playing with birds

Thought I'd try painting a few birds (just used pictures from the internet). These were fun and I'll probably try some more.

Jeannie's class recent work

It's been a long time since I've posted and I'm sure I've left out some things, but here are a few recent paintings from our Dillsburg watercolor group.

Watercolor meetup

Went to a "meetup" with a friend several weeks ago where we had live models. Here's one of my pictures. I did some sketching on the iPad and I can't find my other sketches. I hope to go again - Great models and the other artists were inspiring!

Grandkids picture (4th try)

I worked on several pictures of the grandkids these past few weeks to use as a gift. This is the one I finally finished and gave away. The picture was taken in a pretty dark place at night, so the color isn't as true. I do think it captures the kids character. (Hard to paint someone you know so well)

Kids in hats

These are my grandkids - It's one of four I worked on of them recently. I'm not sure I'm finished with it, but here it is for now. The kids were wearing oversized John Deere hats at a tractor event.

Fall still life

Dillsburg group - I loved the Fall colors in this.
