This is a full sheet done from a photo I'd taken at Jubilee Day this year (Mechanicsburg,PA). I was very frustrated with this, especially the camouflage shirt - Now I think I need to change some things about his face before it's presentable. Oh well...
Randy and Merlin - "I was very frustrated with this, especially the camouflage shirt." Actually upon reflection ... in my humble opinion ... the shirt is not the issue. You have a superlative composition going on here. Taking a page from Winslow Homer ... a strong bolt of color ... the parrot ... I would tone down the competing light in the upper right and left and let the colorful bird draw the viewer's eye into the painting. Kudos.
